Always open

The exchange keeps
office hours.

Bucharest trades from ten in the morning until a quarter to six, five days a week. That is thirty-eight and three quarter hours out of a hundred and sixty-eight. For the other hundred and twenty-nine, the news keeps coming and you cannot do a thing about it.

A day, from above

Turn the clock.

Every ring is a market, drawn against the same twenty-four hours in Bucharest time. Drag the hand and watch which ones are awake.

Settlement

Sold on Monday.
Yours on Monday.

Selling a share on the exchange starts a two-day clock before the money is actually yours. The token has no such clock.

On the exchange

Trade Monday, settle Wednesday. T+2 is the standard across European markets — two business days, and weekends do not count.

The small print, in full size

What always open does not mean.

Continuous trading is a real thing, but it is not magic. Here is what is actually happening at three in the morning.

Someone still has to quote

Outside Bucharest hours the other side of your trade is a market maker, not the exchange. They quote continuously, and like any market maker they widen when they are less certain. Expect a wider spread at 03:00 than at 11:00.

The price is anchored, not invented

It starts from the last Bucharest print and moves with everything that happens after it — currency, commodities, the indices that carry the same names. When Bucharest reopens, the two prices meet.

Redemption follows the exchange

You can trade the token at any hour. Turning it back into the actual share means buying or selling on the Bucharest market, and that only happens when Bucharest is open.

Stop waiting for ten o'clock.
